Deep Tissue Massage in Chur
A Deep Tissue treatment is a type of massage in which a constant, more powerful pressure is applied than in a traditional or relaxation massage.
The purpose of this massage technique is to relax deep-seated stuck or hardened tissue areas. The increased pressure allows tension in the muscles and fascia within these areas of the body to be released.

How does the Deep Tissue treatment work?
At the beginning, a massage is performed with gentler pressure to warm up the muscles, tissues, tendons and ligaments and to prepare them for the more intensive, deep-acting treatment.
During the massage, the grips become progressively deeper and the pressure stronger. As a result, pain may occur. If they become too intense, the pressure can be adjusted by mutual agreement.
For which complaints can the Deep Tissue treatment help?
– Chronic pain
– Pain that is limited to specific areas of the body (stiff neck, shoulder or back pain)
– Sports injuries
– High blood pressure
– Scar tissue
Blood circulation is improved and connective tissues are stimulated during an intensive massage. Firm massage techniques enable the loosening of deep-seated hardening and the loosening of scar tissue.
This stimulates the release of oxytocin and serotonin, which reduces blood pressure – a great advantage for people with hypertension. The method is also helpful after sports injuries or surgery, as it restores suppleness to tendons, ligaments and muscles in affected areas.
For people with chronic pain due to rheumatism, arthritis or migraine, the intensive massage is also recommended.
What is the process of a Deep Tissue treatment at Origin Chur?
1. At the beginning of the treatment, your therapist will take a comprehensive medical history. All information that is important for the treatment of your problem will be collected. The anamnesis can take between 5 and 20 minutes, depending on the complexity of your issue.
2. After the anamnesis the treatment begins. The therapist leaves the room briefly so that you can undisturbed undress the parts of your body that will be treated and settle on the massage table.
3. the therapist focuses on your problem and applies various techniques. During the treatment, you are in communication, for example, about whether the pressure is strong enough, whether the
4. After the treatment, you discuss how many treatments it will take for your problem and make the next appointment.
When should you not use this form of treatment?
– Blood clot
– before surgery
– osteoporosis
– bruises, inflammations, infected skin, rashes, open wounds
– with tumors
– fragile bones
– fresh fractures
– pregnancy
If blood clots are present or there is a tendency for them to form, intensive massage should be avoided as these clots could potentially be dislodged.
In addition, massage is not advisable if you are about to undergo surgery or other medical procedures such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
In case of osteoporosis, brittle bones or during pregnancy, it is better to avoid massage due to the strong pressure.
The same applies to bruises, inflammation, infected skin, rashes, open wounds, tumors, or areas where a fracture has recently been sustained. In these cases, strong pressure can do more harm than good.
