Goal of the internship
The internship at Origin Massage offers prospective EFA medical masseurs the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice and develop practical skills under professional guidance. The aim is to provide the best possible preparation for the professional examination according to OdA MM.
Areas of learning and work
During the internship, the interns take on the following activities:
- Carrying out independent treatments under supervision
- Methods used: classic massage (KLM), lymphatic drainage, foot reflexology (FRZ), electrotherapy, connective tissue massage (BGM)
- Participation in regular team meetings
- Customer care and administration, e.g. with the OneDoc booking system
- Documentation (medical history, course of treatment, billing)
- Insight into practice organization, hygiene and quality assurance
- 2 hours a week at their own disposal (e.g. learning, literature work)
- Free participation in approx. four internal training days
Support & Supervision
- Each location has a designated internship supervisor (medical masseur*, physiotherapist*)
- This supervisor accompanies and assesses the interns professionally and personally
- Weekly supervision (30 min.)
- Up to two hours of supervision/month for written work
- At least three documented treatment assessments take place (mandatory for KNW8)
- Regular exchange and reflection are part of the learning process

Quality assurance
Origin Massage undertakes to comply with the quality requirements in accordance with:
- OdA MM job description & guidelines
- School-specific agreements, e.g. the SAKE/Prophylaxis agreement
- Internal standards such as:
- Supervision by qualified specialist staff
- Integration of interns as learners, not as fully-fledged employees
- Ensuring a balanced relationship between professional practice & reflection
- Compliance with current hygiene and protection guidelines
Framework conditions
- The internship takes place on the basis of an employment contract between the internship location and the intern:in
- The school provides templates and accompanies the process in terms of content
- The interns have personal professional liability insurance
- Origin Massage has liability insurance as an institution
Release from work & networking days
Internal school networking days take place during the internship. The internship locations release the interns for this.
