PREGNANCY MASSAGE IN BERN
Pregnancy massage offers a specially adapted form of treatment for this time, which is designed to support expectant mothers and is tailored to their needs.
During this special time, a woman’s body has a lot to accomplish – a miracle that is accompanied by equally special challenges and significant changes. Provided the pregnancy proceeds without complications, this treatment method is a suitable choice for pregnant women. The pressure varies depending on the week of pregnancy – in the first trimester, only very light pressure can be applied, while as the pregnancy progresses, massage can be applied according to the patient’s wishes.
Pregnancy massage not only provides emotional and physical support, but also helps with pregnancy complaints such as back pain, tension or water retention.

What are the effects of pregnancy massage?
This massage method is designed to relieve or eliminate tension in the shoulders, neck and back. The joints can also be relieved by the pregnancy massage. Other positive effects include relieving headaches and sleeping problems, reducing stress, promoting skin elasticity, supporting posture, releasing blockages or congestion and reducing water retention. In combination with an oil massage, this form of treatment also helps to improve skin elasticity.
In addition, a pregnancy massage can also provide relaxation with regard to the emotional challenges of pregnancy and the forthcoming birth and help to reduce stress.
When should pregnancy massage not be performed?
The basic prerequisite is that the patient is in good health, as additional stress should be avoided. In addition, massages should only be performed after the 13th week of pregnancy, as the risk of miscarriage may be increased at an earlier stage. We advise against massage during this time.
Massage should also be avoided if there are any complications during pregnancy. This applies in particular to premature labor, diseases of the placenta, growth disorders, varicose veins, diabetes or autoimmune diseases. We always recommend consulting a gynecologist.
What is the procedure of a pregnancy massage at Origin Massage?
Before the actual massage, your therapist will carry out an initial anamnesis, during which all relevant information for the treatment is collected. This takes about 5 to 20 minutes.
Afterwards, the therapist will leave the room to allow you to undress in private. During this time, you can prepare for the massage and lie down on the table.
With a view to the anamnesis, the therapist will focus on the issues discussed and will be available at any time should you have any comments.
At the end, further appointments can be arranged if desired.
