Craniosacral therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, manual method that has its origins in osteopathy and has developed into an independent, holistic form of therapy. It is based on the idea that the body has its own subtle rhythm – the so-called craniosacral rhythm.
This rhythm is created by the wave-like movement of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that circulates between the skull (cranium) and the sacrum.
The movements of this system influence the entire organism and contribute significantly to health, vitality and inner balance.

How Does the Treatment Work?
Craniosacral therapists use sensitive hands to feel the body’s own rhythm and give targeted, very gentle impulses. These impulses support the free development of natural movements in the tissue, release tension and activate the body’s own self-regulating powers.
The session takes place in a relaxed environment and usually in a comfortable supine position – clothing is usually left on. The treatment has a calming effect, brings body and mind into balance and can set deep recovery processes in motion.
Who Is Craniosacral Therapy For?
Craniosacral therapy is suitable for people at every stage of life – from very young babies to older adults. Due to its particularly gentle and sensitive approach, it is ideal for infants and children, for example in cases of sleep disorders, persistent crying or digestive problems.
Craniosacral therapy can also have a supportive and stabilizing effect on chronic complaints or in times of high emotional or physical stress.
The Role of the Fascia
A key component of craniosacral therapy is targeted work with the fascial system – the fine network of connective tissue that runs through the entire body and connects muscles, organs and internal structures.
Therapists use trained hands to detect tensions, restrictions and unfavorable patterns in the deep fascial layers. Using mindful, precise techniques, they help to release these blockages, promote the mobility of joints, muscle chains and fascial pathways and bring the body back into a harmonious flow.
