How does the Deep Tissue treatment work?
The muscles, tissue, ligaments and tendons are prepared at the start of the treatment with a gentle massage to “warm them up” and prepare them for the more in-depth treatment.
As the massage progresses, the strokes gradually become deeper and the pressure more intense. This can occasionally lead to pain. If the pain becomes too intense, the pressure can be adjusted in consultation with the therapist.
For which complaints can the Deep Tissue treatment help?
The deep tissue massage stimulates the connective tissue and promotes blood circulation. The deep massage serves to loosen hardening and scar tissue.
The additional stimulation of oxytocin and serotonin release can also lower blood pressure, which is a great benefit for people with high blood pressure. The treatment method is also useful after operations or sports injuries, as tendons, ligaments or muscles in the affected areas become more “supple” as a result of deep tissue treatment.
In addition, people who suffer from chronic pain due to illnesses such as rheumatism, arthrosis or migraines can also benefit from intensive massage.
What is the process of a Deep Tissue treatment at Origin Bern?
Before the actual massage begins, your therapist will carry out an initial analysis to gather all the important information for the treatment. This assessment takes between 5 and 20 minutes.
You will then be given time alone to ensure privacy for undressing. This phase allows you to mentally prepare for the massage and position yourself on the massage table.
Based on the initial analysis, the therapist then focuses on the previously discussed complaints and is open to any feedback from you during the treatment.
At the end, there is the option of planning further sessions if required.
When should you not use this form of treatment?
Deep Tissue treatment should be avoided if you have blood clots or a tendency to develop blood clots, as this treatment can potentially trigger clots. You should also not undergo deep tissue treatment if you are about to undergo surgery or other medical procedures or are undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
It is also not recommended for people with osteoporosis or pregnant women due to the high pressure. The same applies to bruises, inflammation, infected skin, skin rashes, open wounds, tumors or areas where a fracture has recently been sustained. In such cases, intense pressure can do more harm than good.
