Naturopathy
Traditional European Naturopathy (TEN) assumes that the human organism is normally equipped with sufficient self-healing powers that enable it to maintain its health and cure itself in the event of illness.
These illnesses are often triggered by an unhealthy lifestyle, such as an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, insufficient sleep and fresh air, as well as mental or physical stress.
In naturopathy, the focus is much more on supporting the body’s self-healing powers in a natural way than on the symptoms of illness.
This is why a holistic view of the person is so important: the analysis of lifestyle, current circumstances and problems as well as the patient’s personal concerns are considered in depth. Based on this, an individual plan is created, which includes various elements of nutrition, phytotherapy, massage and lifestyle advice.

WHAT METHODS DOES NATUROPATHY INCLUDE?
Various methods are used in naturopathy.
These include, for example, phytotherapy and manual therapy, as well as nutritional counseling and drainage methods.
Further information on the individual methods can be found here.
FOR WHICH COMPLAINTS CAN NATUROPATHY HELP?
Naturopathic methods can provide support for a variety of complaints and can also be used preventively.
Among other things, naturopathy is helpful for headaches and migraines or chronic, acute pain – including burnout syndrome. It can also be used for digestive complaints or skin problems, tinnitus or sleep problems. In addition to the general desire for an improved lifestyle, naturopathy is also recommended for fertility or menstrual problems or irregular menstrual cycles.
NATUROPATHY AND WESTERN MEDICINE
In contrast to Western medicine, naturopathy focuses on holistic support for the body and disease prevention. Western medicine, on the other hand, is used for serious illnesses or acute problems that require a quick solution.Different approaches and goals are therefore pursued.
However, both methods should be seen as an interplay. For example, if Western medicine resorts to surgery for a fracture, naturopathy can be used to promote the healing process in the aftermath.
What is the process of naturopathy at Origin Massage Bern?
Before the therapy starts, your alternative practitioner will carry out a comprehensive initial medical history. All relevant data is collected here.
This includes life circumstances, professional activity, possible previous illnesses, stress levels or other information that is important for the therapy. It usually takes about an hour to draw up an individual plan. This allows the treatment goal to be precisely recorded and pursued.
The treatment plan is based on the medical history taken and is very comprehensive. It can include various naturopathic methods, such as nutritional advice, herbal medicine, cupping, detoxification procedures, foot massage or medical massage. As our therapists offer a wide range of treatment methods, other methods can also be integrated depending on the location.
How often and for how long the therapy lasts depends on the patient’s individual treatment goal. Patients often also receive practical exercises or tinctures from the practicing therapist to take home with them.
