Trigger points are not hardenings of the muscle, which often cause pain when touched and are perceived as tiny knots.

Hardening occurs when fine muscle fibers, known as sarcomeres, remain in the stiffened state in which the muscle is in when tensed and do not relax again.

A trigger point does not necessarily have to cause local pain, but can also be noticeable in other distant sensations in the body.

What are the effects of trigger point therapy?

For which complaints can trigger point therapy help?

Treatment can have a healing or supportive and pain-relieving effect on many complaints. Trigger point therapy can provide effective treatment for all these pains as well as postural problems and overloading. By releasing trigger points, the muscles can relax and move normally again. A healthy posture becomes possible again and pain can be avoided in the long term. What is the process of trigger point therapy?

Before the actual massage, you will have an initial consultation with your therapist to discuss all relevant information about the treatment. Experience has shown that this conversation takes about 5-20 minutes.
Shortly before the treatment, you will have time to undress in privacy and position yourself on the couch.
Your treatment will be based on the initial anamnesis, and the therapist will always be available to answer your questions and comments.
Following the massage, further follow-up appointments can be arranged on request.

What is the difference between trigger point therapy and medical massage?

Medical massage and trigger point therapy differ in their objectives.

In trigger point massage, the focus is on a trigger point that triggers acute discomfort and pain. It is usually very painful, even if it leads to significant relief afterwards. Medical massage, on the other hand, has a wide range of applications and is primarily used to relax or loosen the muscles and promote blood circulation. Medical massage is also used more for chronic pain or conditions and is perceived as less painful.
