Naturopathy
Traditional European Naturopathy (TEN) assumes that the human organism is normally equipped with sufficient self-healing powers that enable it to maintain its health and cure itself in the event of illness.
These illnesses are often triggered by an unhealthy lifestyle, such as an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, insufficient sleep and fresh air, as well as mental or physical stress.
In naturopathy, the focus is much more on supporting the body’s self-healing powers in a natural way than on the symptoms of illness.
This is why a holistic view of the person is so important: the analysis of lifestyle, current circumstances and problems as well as the patient’s personal concerns are considered in depth. Based on this, an individual plan is created, which includes various elements of nutrition, phytotherapy, massage and lifestyle advice.

What methods does naturopathy include?
Naturopathy deals with many components. Frequently used methods include nutritional counseling according to TEN, phyto- and manual therapy as well as the anaesthetic and drainage methods.
Further information on the individual methods can be found here.
What complaints can naturopathy help with?
Naturopathic methods can have a supportive effect on a wide range of complaints and can also be used preventively.
These include headaches and migraines, chronic or acute stress and burnout syndrome, as well as digestive problems. Naturopathy can also help in cases of sleep disorders, menstrual problems or irregular menstrual cycles. The same applies to the desire to have children. Naturopathic advice is also highly recommended if you wish to change your lifestyle.
Naturopathy and western medicine
In contrast to Western medicine, naturopathy focuses on holistic support for the body and disease prevention. Western medicine, on the other hand, is used for serious illnesses or acute problems that require a quick solution.Different approaches and goals are therefore pursued.
However, both methods should be seen as an interplay. For example, if Western medicine resorts to surgery for a fracture, naturopathy can be used to promote the healing process in the aftermath.
What is the process of naturopathy at Origin Uster?
Before the start of therapy, a detailed initial medical history is taken, during which all important information relevant to naturopathic therapy is compiled. This includes current life circumstances, professional activity, eating habits or personal challenges and stress factors.
It can take around an hour to draw up an individual plan.
The treatment plan is specifically tailored to the patient and is based on the results of the initial anamnesis. We use (various) naturopathic methods, such as nutritional advice, herbal medicine, cupping, detoxification procedures, massage via the feet or medical massage. Depending on the location, we also offer other methods that can be integrated into the plan.
The duration and frequency of the therapy depends on the individual treatment goal. In order to pursue this goal outside of the sessions, our naturopaths sometimes also provide practical exercises or tinctures to take home.
