The therapist applies the exact amount of pressure that feels good to you. Additionally, you can choose what parts of your body you would like to have treated: back, arms, neck, head, legs, – or all of it – in other words – a full body massage.

At Origin we aim to create an atmosphere in which you can completely let go. We use sustainable and organic massage oils, essential oils of your choice for the diffuser, and you can choose between many different therapists.

What’s the procedure of a wellness massage at Origin?

  1. Find a therapist of your choice. To be able to fully let go during the massage, it is important that you feel comfortable with the person treating you. On our website, you can find detailed therapist profiles to support you in the choice of your ideal therapist.
  2. Upon arrival, your therapist is going to ask you about your expectations and needs. Explain to them why you are here, and what body parts you would like to have massaged (back, neck, full-body,…). In case you know a certain type of music that helps you relax, feel free to ask your therapist to play it. We want to create the best atmosphere possible for you.
  3. Next, your therapist is going to leave the room for you to undress and get comfortable on the massage bed. There will be a blanket that you can use to cover up.
  4. Your therapist comes back, and the treatment starts. During a wellness massage, the therapist usually uses techniques from classical massage. Depending on the therapist’s further training, they might use methods such as Lomi Lomi Massage or Shiatsu.
  5. After your treatment: The best thing to do after a wellness massage is to take the rest of the day off, or at least block a couple of hours for after the massage. The aim of a wellness massage is to slow you down and activate your parasympathetic nervous system (rest & digest), thus, it would be a pity if you had to rush to another meeting right away after the massage. Instead, spoil yourself after the treatment! Go for a walk, have a healthy beverage at your favourite café, or simply go home and continue to relax!

What are the effects of a wellness massage?

A wellness massage can have many positive effects on your wellbeing. Among these are:

  • Your parasympathetic nervous system is being activated – your system relaxes and slows down
  • Stress reduction
  • Headaches caused by stress can be relieved
  • Your psychological wellbeing may increase, since the massage leads to the release of the brain’s “happy chemicals” such as serotonin and oxytocin

  • Tensions can be released*

*Tensions can be released during a wellness massage, however, that is not the focus of this type of massage. Please discuss with your therapist how much you want them to focus on your tensions.
