MEDICAL MASSAGE BASEL
Medical massage is specially designed to treat specific health problems. Its focus is on relieving severe tension and physical discomfort, while it can also be used effectively for chronic pain. Unlike traditional massage, which is aimed at general relaxation, medical massage helps to improve mobility, rehabilitate after injury or surgery and treat specific medical conditions. It is often performed on the recommendation of a doctor or therapist.
Before treatment begins, a detailed medical history is taken to clarify individual needs and determine the appropriate form of therapy. The selected techniques are targeted at the specific complaints in order to achieve optimal results.
Commonly used methods of medical massage include classic massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage and fascia therapy. These techniques are designed to target specific pain points and provide lasting relief.

What is the process of a medical massage at Origin Basel?
At the beginning of the therapy session, you will have a detailed initial consultation in which you and the therapist will discuss the most important information about your state of health and your concerns. This consultation usually lasts 5 to 20 minutes and is used to determine your individual treatment goals.
You will then have time to get changed undisturbed and position yourself comfortably on the treatment couch.
The treatment is customized and carried out on the basis of the preliminary consultation. Your therapist will be available throughout the session to answer any questions or give advice so that the therapy can be optimally tailored to you.
At the end of the session, you have the option of making further appointments for follow-up sessions if necessary in order to achieve lasting improvement.
How often to perform a medical massage?
As a rule, 1 to 6 sessions are required to achieve the desired result. However, the exact number depends heavily on your individual symptoms and their severity. If there is no noticeable improvement after three treatments, we will check with you whether it makes sense to switch to another therapist in order to address your problem in a more targeted manner.
What is the difference between a classic and a medical massage?
Medical massage focuses primarily on the targeted treatment of specific health complaints and the relief of chronic pain. It is also often used to support recovery after injuries or operations.
Within medical massage, classical massage can also be used as a supportive method, but only if it makes a targeted contribution to the treatment of the problem in question. The main aim of classic massage is to relieve general tension – particularly in the shoulder, back, neck or leg areas – to promote relaxation and improve general well-being.
